Godawari Power and Ispat Limited (GPIL) announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Godawari New Energy Private Limited (GNEPL), executed a long-term supply agreement with EVE Power Co. Ltd for the procurement of Lithium Ferro Phosphate (LFP) cells, a critical raw material for battery energy storage systems (BESS). The agreement supports the first phase of GNEPL’s planned 20 GWh BESS manufacturing capacity.
The company confirmed that the signed agreement was received on April 13, 2026. The contract, spanning five years, covers the supply of 628 Ah LFP cells and is aimed at ensuring a stable, reliable, and cost-effective supply chain for GNEPL’s battery manufacturing operations. The arrangement is expected to facilitate consistent product quality and enable improved long-term production planning.
This development marks a significant milestone in GNEPL’s efforts to establish its battery energy storage manufacturing capabilities. The secured supply of Grade 1 LFP cells will support the company’s BESS assembly line and strengthen its position in the energy storage segment.
EVE Power Co. Ltd, based in China, is a prominent manufacturer of lithium battery cells and provides solutions across consumer, power, and energy storage battery segments. The collaboration is expected to enhance GNEPL’s operational readiness as it advances its BESS manufacturing roadmap.
