India’s solar sector continues to gain momentum as NTPC Renewable Energy Limited has invited bids for the supply of solar PV modules for its 1,000 MW solar projects in Uttar Pradesh, reinforcing the state’s growing importance in the country’s renewable energy landscape.
The tender covers the manufacturing, supply, and transportation of high-efficiency solar modules for large-scale projects expected to be developed across key locations such as Lalitpur and Chitrakoot. The projects are anticipated to deploy advanced, high-wattage bifacial modules, highlighting the increasing shift toward high-performance technologies in utility-scale solar installations.
This development underscores the rising demand for solar modules in Uttar Pradesh, driven by a combination of large-scale government-backed projects and increasing adoption across commercial and industrial segments. As one of India’s largest power producers, NTPC’s continued expansion into renewable energy further signals strong confidence in the state’s solar potential and infrastructure readiness.
The announcement also reflects broader trends shaping India’s solar market, including the push for domestic manufacturing, improved supply chain capabilities, and the adoption of advanced module technologies. With multiple gigawatt-scale projects in the pipeline, the demand for reliable EPC players, manufacturers, and technology providers is expected to rise significantly.
Such developments are expected to take center stage at the PowerPax India Renewable Energy Expo 2026, scheduled to be held on 2–3 May in Varanasi. The expo aims to bring together solar manufacturers, EPC companies, policymakers, and energy stakeholders to explore opportunities in Uttar Pradesh’s rapidly expanding clean energy market.
With a strong focus on solar supply chains, large-scale project opportunities, and emerging technologies, the event will provide a timely platform for industry players to discuss developments like NTPC’s ongoing projects and their implications for the regional market. The expo will also facilitate collaboration between manufacturers, developers, and buyers, helping accelerate project execution and strengthen the renewable energy ecosystem in Central and Eastern Uttar Pradesh.
As Uttar Pradesh continues to emerge as a key hub for renewable energy growth, initiatives such as NTPC’s 1,000 MW solar projects, combined with industry platforms like PowerPax India Expo, are expected to play a crucial role in driving investment, innovation, and large-scale adoption across the state.
