Oil India, CSIR-IMMT Sign MoU to Advance R&D in Critical Minerals Under NCMM

Oil India Limited (OIL), a Maharatna PSU, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with CSIR – Institute of Minerals and Materials Technology (CSIR-IMMT), which has been identified as a Centre of Excellence for critical minerals under the National Critical Mineral Mission (NCMM). The agreement, signed on March 30, 2026, aims to jointly pursue research and development (R&D) projects in the critical minerals domain.

The MoU was formalized between the Director (Exploration & Development) of OIL and the Director of CSIR-IMMT. The signing ceremony was held in the presence of the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of OIL, along with Functional Directors, senior officials from OIL, and senior scientists from CSIR-IMMT.

The collaboration is expected to facilitate focused R&D initiatives aligned with the objectives of the National Critical Mineral Mission, strengthening capabilities in the critical minerals sector.
