Premier Energies Limited Commissions 5.6 GW Solar Facility, Surpasses 10 GW Module Capacity

Premier Energies Limited has commissioned a 5.6 GW solar module manufacturing facility at Seetharampur, Telangana, marking a major milestone in its expansion journey. With this addition, the company’s total solar module manufacturing capacity has crossed 11.1 GW, reinforcing its position among India’s leading solar manufacturers.

Spread across 75 acres, the new facility has commenced trial production and is expected to generate around 2,000 jobs, contributing to the local economy and strengthening India’s clean energy manufacturing ecosystem.

The plant features one of the country’s most advanced and automated production lines, capable of manufacturing G12R TOPCon high-efficiency solar modules at a rapid pace of four modules every 16 seconds. The facility integrates AI-powered fault detection systems to enhance quality, reliability, and operational efficiency.

By combining TOPCon technology with Zero Busbar (0BB) architecture, the company aims to deliver high-performance modules with improved energy yield, reduced optical losses, and enhanced durability for both domestic and global markets.

Commenting on the development, Managing Director Chiranjeev Saluja said the commissioning represents a significant step toward building a fully integrated solar manufacturing ecosystem. He highlighted the company’s focus on scaling across the value chain and delivering high-efficiency solutions to support India’s energy transition.

Chief Strategy Officer Sudhir Reddy added that the facility aligns with the company’s strategic roadmap to expand integrated manufacturing capabilities, strengthen supply chain resilience, and meet growing global demand for advanced solar technologies.

Premier Energies is currently undertaking a ₹12,500 crore capital expenditure program aimed at more than doubling its manufacturing capacity, expanding backward integration into ingots and wafers, and diversifying into inverters, transformers, and battery systems.

The development underscores the company’s commitment to innovation, scale, and sustainability as India accelerates its clean energy ambitions.
