Narendra Modi to Lay Foundation Stone for ₹2,360 Crore Zaheerabad Industrial Smart City

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to lay the foundation stone for the ₹2,360 crore Zaheerabad Integrated Industrial Smart City in Telangana on May 10, marking a major push towards industrial corridor-led development in the region.

The project is being developed as part of the Hyderabad–Nagpur Industrial Corridor under the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme. Spread across approximately 3,245 acres in Sangareddy district, the industrial smart city is envisioned as a next-generation manufacturing and logistics hub.

Designed with a focus on integrated infrastructure, the project will include plug-and-play industrial facilities along with residential, commercial, and social infrastructure such as schools and training centres. It will cater to multiple sectors, including logistics, auto components, electrical and electronics, machinery, metals, non-metallic minerals, and food processing.

The smart city is expected to attract investments exceeding ₹10,000 crore and generate around 1.74 lakh jobs by 2029, significantly boosting industrial growth and employment in the region.
Strategically located along a key industrial corridor, the project is positioned to benefit from strong connectivity to national highways, rail networks, and major urban centres, enhancing its potential as a manufacturing and logistics hub.

The development also aligns with the government’s broader vision of strengthening industrial infrastructure, promoting regional economic growth, and positioning India as a global manufacturing destination through integrated industrial corridors.

Once operational, the Zaheerabad Industrial Smart City is expected to play a critical role in decentralising industrial activity from major urban centres while creating a sustainable and technology-driven industrial ecosystem.
