Ola Electric Launches S1 X+ 5.2 kWh With 4680 Bharat Cells, Expands Access to Long-Range EV Scooters

Ola Electric has announced the launch of its latest electric scooter, the S1 X+ 5.2 kWh, powered by the company’s indigenously developed 4680 Bharat Cell, marking a significant step toward making long-range electric mobility more accessible to the mass market in India.

Priced at an introductory ₹1,29,999, valid till 15th April, the S1 X+ 5.2 kWh represents a key milestone in the company’s strategy to scale high-performance EV technology. The launch brings Ola Electric’s advanced in-house cell technology, previously limited to premium offerings, into a more affordable segment aimed at accelerating wider EV adoption.

The development highlights the company’s strong vertical integration across cell manufacturing, battery pack engineering, and vehicle production. This integrated approach enables faster deployment of new technologies across product categories and enhances scalability.

Commenting on the launch, an Ola Electric spokesperson said the introduction of the S1 X+ 5.2 kWh brings the 4680 Bharat Cell technology to the mass market at scale. The spokesperson added that leveraging a unified technology platform allows the company to combine innovation, speed, and accessibility, positioning the new scooter as a balance of performance, range, and affordability.

The S1 X+ 5.2 kWh is designed to deliver a combination of performance and practicality. It is equipped with an 11 kW mid-drive motor integrated with an MCU, offering a certified range of 320 km (IDC) and a top speed of 125 km/h. The scooter also features Brake-by-Wire technology and front disc brakes, aimed at improving control and braking efficiency.

Ola Electric’s broader portfolio includes the Gen 3 S1 scooter range and the Roadster X motorcycle lineup. The premium Gen 3 S1 series comprises S1 Pro+ in 5.2 kWh and 4 kWh variants, along with S1 Pro in 4 kWh and 3 kWh configurations. In the mass segment, the company offers the Gen 3 S1 X+ (4 kWh) and Gen 3 S1 X in 2 kWh, 3 kWh, and 4 kWh options.

Additionally, the Roadster motorcycle portfolio includes the Roadster X+ in 4.5 kWh and 9.1 kWh variants, while the Roadster X is available in 2.5 kWh, 3.5 kWh, and 4.5 kWh configurations, further strengthening the company’s presence across multiple EV segments.
