PM Modi Launches and Lays Foundation for ₹9,400 Crore Development Projects in Telangana

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for development projects worth over ₹9,400 crore in Telangana, covering sectors such as railways, road infrastructure, industrial development, energy, and manufacturing.

The projects were unveiled during the Prime Minister’s visit to Telangana, where he highlighted the Centre’s focus on strengthening infrastructure, industrial growth, connectivity, and employment generation in the state.

Among the major announcements was the foundation stone laying for the ₹2,360 crore Zaheerabad Industrial Smart City, being developed under the Chennai–Bengaluru Industrial Corridor. The project is expected to emerge as a major manufacturing and industrial hub with integrated infrastructure, logistics facilities, and plug-and-play industrial zones.

The Prime Minister also dedicated several railway infrastructure projects aimed at improving regional and interstate connectivity. These included new rail line sections, doubling works, and modernisation initiatives designed to enhance freight movement and passenger transportation across Telangana and adjoining regions.

In the road sector, projects linked to highway connectivity and urban mobility were also launched to support faster movement of goods and reduce travel congestion in growing industrial and urban clusters. Officials stated that the infrastructure push is expected to improve logistics efficiency and attract additional investments into the state.

A significant focus of the announcements was on manufacturing and clean energy-related infrastructure. The projects are expected to support sectors including electronics, renewable energy, engineering, and advanced manufacturing as Telangana continues to position itself as a key industrial and technology destination.

During the event, the Prime Minister said the Centre is prioritising world-class infrastructure and industrial ecosystems to accelerate India’s economic growth and strengthen regional development. He noted that Telangana has emerged as an important destination for investments, innovation, and industrial expansion.

Industry observers believe the latest round of infrastructure investments could further boost Telangana’s position in sectors such as logistics, manufacturing, urban infrastructure, and transportation while creating significant employment opportunities across the state.
