Volvo Construction Equipment Expands Presence in Thailand with SD120 Compactor Deployment

Volvo Construction Equipment has strengthened its presence in the Thai construction market with the delivery of its first New Generation SD120 soil compactor, reflecting growing demand for advanced compaction solutions in the country.

The machine was delivered in partnership with the company’s authorised dealer, Chairatchakarn (Bangkok) Co., Ltd. to local contractor Gabion (Thailand), marking a key milestone in Volvo CE’s regional expansion strategy.

The deployment comes amid increasing infrastructure development activity in Thailand, particularly in road construction and maintenance, where demand for efficient and reliable compaction equipment has been rising steadily.

The SD120 compactor is designed to deliver high productivity and operational efficiency across a range of applications. It features improved fuel efficiency and is equipped with Volvo’s CareTrack telematics system, enabling real-time machine monitoring and proactive maintenance to enhance uptime.

The delivery was part of a broader fleet package that also included a New Generation EC210 excavator, highlighting continued customer confidence in Volvo CE’s equipment performance and aftersales support. The contractor had previously invested in Volvo machines, influencing its decision to expand its fleet further.

Following the official introduction of the SD120 range in Thailand earlier in 2026, demand has gained momentum, with multiple units already delivered and additional machines scheduled for deployment.
Volvo CE stated that Thailand remains a strategically important market, supported by ongoing infrastructure investments and increasing customer preference for high-performance, reliable machinery.

With continued deliveries and strong dealer support, the company is well positioned to cater to the evolving needs of Thailand’s construction sector while reinforcing its footprint in the region.
