Adani Power Secures Long-Term Power Supply Contract from MSEDCL

Adani Power Limited (APL) has announced that it has secured a major long-term power supply contract in India. The company received a Letter of Award (LoA) from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) after successfully winning an electronic reverse auction process.

The official communication was received by the company at 8:30 PM on April 1, 2026.

The contract involves the supply of 2,500 MW of Renewable Energy Round-the-Clock (RE RTC) power. This type of power supply ensures the continuous availability of electricity generated from renewable sources, helping to overcome the usual challenge of variability in solar and wind energy. The Round-the-Clock arrangement is designed to deliver stable and reliable green power to meet growing energy demands.

As per the agreement, Adani Power will supply electricity for a period of 25 years. The supply duration will begin from the Scheduled Commencement Date of Supply, which will be finalized as per the terms mentioned in the power supply agreement. This long-term commitment highlights the scale and importance of the project for both the company and the state of Maharashtra.

The project falls under a domestic tender issued by MSEDCL and will be executed according to the guidelines and conditions specified in the bidding document. In its regulatory filing, the company confirmed that the contract is not a related party transaction. It also clarified that neither its promoters nor any group companies have any interest in MSEDCL. This ensures that the deal has been carried out in a fair and transparent manner.

The announcement was made under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015. Adani Power informed both BSE Limited and the National Stock Exchange of India Limited about the development, ensuring that investors and stakeholders are updated with the latest information.

With this 2,500 MW project, Adani Power strengthens its position in India’s competitive power sector. The project will also support Maharashtra’s long-term energy needs by providing a steady supply of renewable power. The company’s headquarters in Ahmedabad will oversee the execution and compliance aspects of this project.

This development marks an important step for Adani Power as it continues to expand its renewable energy portfolio and contribute to India’s transition towards cleaner and more sustainable power sources.
